Merriweather Post Pavilion is the eighth studio album by American experimental group Animal Collective, released January 2009 on Domino Records. 

The album is named after the Columbia, Maryland venue, Merriweather Post Pavilion. Animal Collective has become known for their intesnely bright, and colorful live shows.

Animal Collective's shows feature the band's music, however they do not preform the album version, rather the same song but mixed differently to create a unique experience for every show.

 

The objective of the redesign was to create an album design which was reflective of the live interaction with the band itself, as well as creating an invidiually numbered and limited edition album.
