Pinhole cameras (known as camera obscura) are the medieval camera types which don't have any optical lenses. Basically, they consist of a box which doesn't penetrate light and a pinhole instead of an objective. The light passes through the pinhole and reflected to the card or light sensitive film in the box, so the photo is taken.
