Illustrated wall calendar is my annual project which I do every year since 2012. Every year I experiment with style, format, colors and storytelling. 

This year I made a silent story about a woodpecker who liked pears and a girl who liked to draw.

Here is how it looks when printed. I used 250 g/m2 paper, A5 size, and each illustration can be cut into a postcard! 

These are some of my first rough ideas:

I didn't have very detailed sketches and tried to get dinamic look by using collage technique. I mostly used black paper, some self-made textured paper and some other colors for lighter shades.

After scanning the collages, I transformed them into grayscale and used some photoshop magic to color them into a fixed color pallette.
