This was a self directed project I was inspired to create after recently stumbling across a wonderful old photo of the Statue of Liberty in a local library.

 

After experimenting with different styles of painting I settled on something I felt to be bold and fun that would transform my models face and leave her looking more like a painting of the statue than the actual statue itself.

 

The background, headpeice and robe were made from cardboard which I painted with acrylics and cut out prior to the shoot.
