This book cover redesign project was created for an assignment at the New York Institute of Art and Design. I redesigned the cover for the book "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens, which I had read recently and enjoyed. In this design, I chose a warm analogous color scheme to create unity and employed contrast with the sun, water, and feathers. Balance is achieved through the use of the rule of thirds and the reflection of the sun in the water. The gradation of color from red to dark red creates the illusion of a three-dimensional space and the falling feathers create an illusion of movement. This design was created using various tools in Adobe Illustrator.
