The Design Process - Through The Life Cycle of Water

Design, even though it is a human creation, it originates from nature. Inspiration around us comes from the organic aesthetic of nature in which water plays an important role. Through this book, we would like to introduce the process of design through the ‘life cycle’ of water.
Now remember, we, as human beings, are also the production of mother nature. Therefore whichever stuff that is generated by human, including design, can be considered organic. And even mother nature has rules in her creations. So it is probably possible to say design is an organic ‘living thing’ and it is bound to its own rules.
Step 1
The Sun meets the water in oceans, rivers and lakes, then vapourises it
The Designer meets the Client, a design brief is  given to the designer
Step 2
After being vapourised, gazillions of water particles emerge and rise up to cloud nine
The Designer brainstorms for ideas, also does research and establishes concepts

Step 3
At low temperature high up, vapours condense and grow into tiny water droplets
Most potential design concepts are chosen and then further developed
Step 4
A multitude of tiny water droplets form a large variety of clouds with different shapes
Concepts are refined through roughs and sketches
Step 5
The clouds ‘present’ a magnificent phenomenon of nature: shower of droplets, aka rain
The Designer presents his refined concepts to the Client. Upon his feedback, necessary refinement is made
Step 6
Rain droplets fall onto trees, flowers, supporting their growth into their maturity
Finished arts are produced, awaiting approval from the Client
Step 7
The remaining water droplets infiltrate through the earth into underground water streams. The soil and rocks help purify water
Enquiry for final changes before the design project is signed off by the Client
Step 8
Water travels through underground streams back into their original storage, forming landscapes such as lakes, rivers and oceans
After signing off, the finalised artwork is due to be printed or digitally published
