Book Cover: The Tempest. By William Shakespeare

CONCEPTUAL BOOK COVER PROJECT art235 Proj 02
Book Cover: Typography Concept
For my typography Design concept, I aligned the main text design in the center to create balance and hierarchy in the composition. I also displaced the positions of the letters to give meaning to what tempest could mean to a lot of minds. But the main point drawn in this design is the aspect of forgiveness and freedom symbolized by the chains broken apart by the text. As the back ground I used the imagery of the island spoken about in the story where the disposed prince took refuge.
Book Cover: Physical Materials Concept
For my physical book cover design, I used a handcuff and a rose flower as my  physical elements to create my visual experiment to draw out my point. I placed a handcuff over a rose flower to symbolize a sense of forgiveness brought about by love that is above all things. I applied the radial gradient to create a visual focus to the cover.

Book Cover: Designer's Choice Concept
For my designer’s choice, I used a visual concept of the a dove flying out of its cage to a conceptual design. Metaphorically symbolizing freedom from captivity, the dove for centuries has been used as a symbol of peace and freedom which greatly supports the theme of my book.I added a shadow of a hand to show the captured has been forgiven and let free to emphasize the point of the author about forgiveness.
