The Sion skyline is dominated by two dramatic rocky pinnacles, on one is the castle of Tourbillon and on the other the Basilique de Notre-Dame de Valere. The town is surrounded by mountains and all around the feet of these mountains grow the vines that produce the renowned wines of the 'valais du rhone' stretching towards the sun.
