A Kickstarter project by me and my team. TOFO, is the "Tamagotchi of Pens", it is a cute virtual pet that lives in your pen. TOFO is mainly targeted at kids, it has many reactions and expressions that make writing more enjoyable for kids.
Having experience in teaching, we can see how kids get bored with writing. They're forced to sit still whenever they write and are quickly discouraged by how repetitive writing can be. It also doesn't help that there are so many distractions in their learning environment. With the right tools, we believe that the boring task of writing can be one of the most rewarding activities. This is where TOFO started.

We went through many rounds of ideation, prototyping and variations. Our character designs and animations are tested and refined to be as lovable as possible. Taking this as a starting point, we designed every interaction to really feel as if a character is living in your pen. Writing with TOFO should feel like you're taking care of a cute pet, and makes you keep wanting to write more.
