Paper toy
for this assignment we had to make a paper toy for a made-up company's mascot.
concept fase
The first step was to decide what kind of company I wanted to create a mascot for. I went through a lot of ideas. from a pumpkin patch to a puppet maker. I ended up choosing the pirate themed bar with a captain as it's mascot.
defining the character
I knew pretty quickly what I wanted this character to look like, a sassy, strong pirate lady. When it came to her colors I first wanted to go with a blue color scheme, but went with reds because that has a warmer feel that a bar is known to have.
designing the logo
The logo was tuffer to decide on. I started with writing down what I thought of when I heard the word "pirate". I didn't want anything too cartoony since this was targeted for adults and not for kids. that's why I went with the ship on the sea. the name was pretty easy to come up with.

prototype
before making the final product we had to make a prototype that would give an idea of what it was going to look like in the end. I unfortunatly wasn't able to put the entire thing together, but I did have a good idea of where to go next.
making the final product
when it came to making the paper toy I took reference from another students work with the name Elle van Helmont. Her work helped a lot in making this.
