Wondering Thoughts

In this project, you will learn the basics of photo manipulation as well as further exploring composition, elements, and principles of design. You will create a montage of images that communicates a message, opinion, thought, feeling, or narrative. The self-portrait project will be your first experience using Photoshop to create fine art. You will use a digital camera or phone to shoot a picture of yourself specifically for this project. You will also collect additional objects, photos, or images from the web. You will then fade those items in and out of the photo using a variety of Photoshop tools and techniques.
This was my first rough sketch done on PicsArt. I liked the photo of me and the incorporation of a hand and trees but wasn’t happy with the over all look.
I then tried a new idea again on PicsArt. I enjoyed the color change I did to myself. This felt too chaotic with all the things happening. But I liked the vintage tape recorder I added in the lower right.
I liked the backgrounds to look like a dream like sky. And I really enjoyed these gradients layered on top of each other. I also decided to steer away from the green pallet which helped my overall idea to shape.
I then added the mountains from my home state to make the space feel larger. I added the vinyl to look like a planet or moon and because I collect them.
I then added the photo of my self and adjusted the color to be warm tones. I then added the same overlay I used in my first sketch, then added my favorite album behind the mountains.
I still felt as though it wasn’t complete. I added my drawings of my eyes on top. Then I added the deer which is a special animal to me. I drew a wonky skull over my face and added a slight rib cage.
In my final piece I added slight details to the drawings to round them out.
The competition of the project.
