Seletti x Bibite Sanpellegrino [We Are Social]

Problem
The food industry each year produces 120 million tons of citrus waste
and most of it is not processed appropriately.
The problem of waste is particularly critical in Sicily, the largest producer of citrus in Italy.

Idea
Sanpellegrino, crafting the iconic sodas with Sicilian oranges since 1932,
transformed the production leftovers into an eco-design collection

Execution
First we collected the peels of the squeezed oranges in Sicily.
With Krill Design we turned them into biopolymers, mouldable through 3D printing.
Together with Seletti we designed a collection, inspired by the shape of our oranges.
Finally we placed these objects in our bars throughout Italy,
replacing the classic plastic tools with ours made from orange peels.

THE LIMITED EDITION
Seletti didn’t simply create the eco-collection.
They also designed a limited edition of Sanpellegrino’s iconic cans
featuring three different artworks where our citruses live a second life,
becoming new and unexpected objects.
