Hi! We are The Secret Illustrators Group, a small community from Dnipro that’s in Ukraine.
We have our own chat for communication and support, where there are already about 150 people. They are completely different personalities, with a diverse style, manner and method of drawing and with a various worldview. But the ability to convey our thoughts, ideas and fantasies through art unites us all.
So we are very pleased to present you a pack of illustrations on the Halloween theme. Its goal is to show people from this community, reveal their inner world and illuminate their creativity, as well as to inspire beginner illustrators to new achievements!
Each artwork contains the thoughts, feelings, experiences of each author, the vision of Halloween.
The attributes of this holiday are the following: pumpkins; skulls and bones; "Familiars" (black cats, spiders, bats) and everything that is "witchcraft"; orange, black, brown colors; ghosts and other unpleasant and defiant characters. And all of them are presented below in an unusual and original way in the postcards, stickers and patterns.
Indeed, Halloween is a popular topic in literature, art and cinema.

“I have always been attracted to fiction and the afterlife, stories and images that have inspired me since childhood. Witches in my artworks presented here depict strong purposeful women, friendly with their inner demons, women who are not ashamed of their sexuality. Halloween is a great occasion to gather with friends and get dressed into the images different from everyday life, to transform, so as to say, into your "totem beast" or hero. I believe that a person relaxes a little bit and allows "his demons" to play a bit thanks to Halloween”.

“A few words about my illustration and Halloween. The holiday of Halloween itself {under the influence of English-language movies, TV series and cartoons for a long time) was for me and still is something not only just mystical, but, first of all, inspiring and fascinating. My attention was especially drawn to forest or lake mythical creatures (for which there is also a special night) because I have grown up surrounded by trees and water since childhood”.
“The process of drawing and painting for me is a way of expressing my inner self. This presented artwork does not carry any subtext, only aesthetics. The colors came from the head, namely, a stream of consciousness, I guess like all the details of the artwork. Regarding my attitude to the manifestation of the dark side displayed in a person, I do not mind this fact if it’s in very small doses, because when there is an overdose of this it’s bad (; To my opinion, Halloween is a celebration of fun and transformation into a character that you cannot be in the real life”.
“I really like gothic music, rock, metal - heavy music inspires me to be creative. Curiously enough, this kind of music calms me down. These presented artworks are just examples of T-shirt prints and stickers for creative people. For me, Halloween is a reason to dress up gloomily, go for walks and be photographed like a character. I also like to do cool gothic makeup for friends”.
“For me, this Halloween turned out to be not so much intimidating as social. Have you heard yet horror stories about forty cats that are about to fill your living space if you don’t start adjusting right now to society's expectations regarding family life? The depth of this fear didn’t shiver through me, so I decided to visualize this situation, as well as the situation with forty dogs for dog lovers (I assure you, there are really forty fuzzies totally, part of it is simply invisible). Well, is it scary?”

“Halloween is the only day of the year when you go out and find like-minded people and people who have worked on their images! For me, Halloween is another reason to review my favorite dark films and draw a couple of atmospheric pictures. This presented artwork was not originally planned to be as Halloween, but I believe that the atmosphere of Gotham is more than suitable for the Halloween theme!”
“There are forest dwellers from one of my fairy tales collected here in my artwork! Hmm, who's cooking in the pot? Actually, this is my inner critic and part-time nix (water sprite) from the forest, where mermaids and a woman-bird live. And yes, the nix loves to lie in a hot pot!”
“I love Halloween for the opportunity to dress up as any character, make up, create props from scrap materials, create style, go to costume parades and parties, surprise and frighten passers-by, have fun with friends and acquaintances. Halloween for me is a bright carnival! It's humor, it's a game and it's fun! That is why my presented artworks are so bright, funny and rich. They show my favorite character, Roxy the dinosaur. I did animation with him, he was on the cover of a music album, and now he has changed into different images typical for Halloween”.
