The Student Movement in Chile
Part three. 2012 & the old-fresh air.

Una lucha que no para. Así se podría definir el 'movimiento estudiantil', al cual muchos prefieren referirse actualmente como 'movimiento por la educación', debido a la actuación de diversos sectores de la sociedad civil en la lucha por un nuevo sistema educacional para Chile, por lo que hablar de 'estudiantil' sería apostar por el gremialismo y desconocer el apoyo social.

Así da cuenta este reportaje fotográfico, de diversas marchas, situaciones y sobretodo, las personas que son parte de este movimiento: hombres y mujeres, jóvenes y viejos, familias enteras así como personas singulares que con un simple cartel se arman y salen a la calle.

La gracia de este periodo es que me tocó participar no sólo como estudiante de base, sino como dirigente estudiantil. Desde Junio del 2012 hasta Julio 2013 fui presidente del Centro de Estudiantes de Diseño de la Universidad de Chile, por lo que este nuevo reportaje recoge además parte de esas situaciones.

A fight that does not stop, that's how could be defined the 'student movement', which many prefer now refer to as 'education movement', due to the performance of various sectors of civil society in the fight for a new educational system in Chile, so to speak of 'student' would ignore the social support.

So this photographic report shows, in different marches, situations and above all, the people who are part of this movement: men and women, young and old, families as well as single people with a single poster are armed and out to the street.

The importance of this period for me is that I had to participate not only as a base student, but as a student leader. From June 2012 to July 2013 I was president of the Student Center of Design at the University of Chile, so this new report includes part of those situations.

August 28, and the movement for the education strikes again. The energy of the first year students now took from pop culture reference trying to get the attention of people, and clearly succeeded.
