The story of the first beach for people with disabilities in Egypt
The sea is as far as the eye can see, vacationers come to Alexandria from all sides to enjoy it, but there are those who did not feel that they had a place on its shores, even if they were born in a city that settles between its covers.
For many years, Abdel Rahman and people with disabilities in Alexandria did not know the feel of the sea, it seemed like a dream to them, they saw it from a distance as a stranger, they avoided being in its surroundings, as they did not feel that they belonged to the place at all.
Everything changed at the beginning of the summer of 2021, when the first beach was designated for people with special abilities in Alexandria Governorate.
It includes a corridor for the owners of wheelchairs, embracing them and uttering the different looks that chase them on other beaches, providing a safe space for them and their families, here the disability is forgotten, because finally the sea is for them.
