In 1764 by the edict of Catherine the Great an armory team was created which was manufacturing and fixing various types of weapons. At the same time Arsenal plant was established. After 275 years, on the spot of one of the former manufactories a cultural factory appeared – Arsenal XXII – an art center and platform for creative collaborations.
It is a cellar room which demanded serious work prior to even start thinking about design – taking garbage away, developing all utility lines from scratch, drying all the dampness.
We set ourselves the task of preserving the existing architecture, old walls and bricks to the maximum. That’s why the light became the main instrument of the design, creating various scenario for pastime.

In our newly created constructions, we often use arcs: we took this motif from building’s façade following the shape of windows and doorways.
