SYNOPSIS
We did it! For 139 days we went through a curfew never imposed so far in Quebec. Chance had it that, during this very same week in January, I bought myself a monstrous fat bike, that my brother and his sweet heart happened to be then recording one of my favourite songs (whose words perfectly echoed this unprecedented situation), and that I, as a filmmaker on my scouting state, was granted the privilege to ride freely. The images I have compiled have all been shot at week-ends between 8pm and midnight, at a time when the streets of Montreal are usually filled with sound. More than 200kms riding on my own, crossing on the way pizza delivery boys, lucky dog-masters allowed to go out, with their certificate at the end of the leash, police cars (lots of them), a black cat, ambulance drivers, a sleeping buffalo, a few rebels, three hippos and just as many ghosts. Bouh! Montreal, after all these years, you remain my favourite island.
