Digital Art and Design second assignment “Interactive Educational eBook” submission date on 26th October 2021. eBook is a digital book in smart devices such as smartphone, tablet, and computer/laptop and there is Interactive eBook besides Regular eBook. Interactive eBook provide many features such as audio, animations, quizzes, so on inside the eBook than Regular eBook. Using an interactive eBook can gain more experiences and engagement for readers to read the book, this is why it's called “Interactive”.

The theme for this assignment is Science, for the topic itself I decided to find something that people mostly haven’t noticed or perhaps they care less, back into the time when I was in elementary school the Teacher taught us that there are 9 planets in our solar system (Pluto included), but now when my cousin learned about planets, they’re only 8 planets in our solar system now. I was puzzled by it and questioned “where is Pluto?” Due to my curiosity, I tried to seek the answer. The concept itself explained about Pluto and why Pluto is not a planet, with the addition of some quizzes, interactive buttons, and animations along with it.

Target Audience : elementary school kids around 6 years old until 10 years old

Synopsis of the book, do you think how many planets in our solar system? 9? Do you know Pluto is not a planet? but it's a Dwarf planet? Why? How? What is that mean? Find out the answer in this fun book! Let's explore!

Pre Visualization

Come up with ideas and plans from my curiosity then pouring those ideas into mind mapping, mood board and storyboard as the basic to make or start a project. The design theme for the book is not really different from the common space themed books for kids, it’s always dark background with illustration of planets and some ornaments such as stars and rockets.

Design Processes

There are 3 software for this process: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Indesign. Using various tools such as pen tool, curvature tool, ellipse tool, etc. and then add animation, button, media, so on.
