The Magdalena province in Colombia was habited by the Tayrona indegenous group in the past; that is why the goberment created an ecological reserve named the Tayrona National Park, a natural paradise beside the sea. This photography series was taken inside it.
In many ancient human cultures the sky was important to understand the cicles of the nature, an essential knowledge for surviving; the moon and the sun were therefore very powerful figures in the cosmogony, turning into spiritual elements, that was too the case in the Tayrona culture.
In this place you can really feel the power of the sun and understand indigenous religion roots.
At present there are several indigenous groups descended from the Tayrona ancient group; one of those groups is the Kogui. In the next pictures there is a Kogui indigenous.
