In-House Branding

Our studio has been quietly transforming. The past 20 months have brought their share of anxiety, longing, despair, hope, loss, and the existential trials everyone has gone through during this prolonged pandemic. As a creative studio that's always worked remotely, our remoteness meant access to a bigger world, more streets, different air. But in early months, when we were mostly trapped inside, our small team hit a wall.

Creativity starved of connection and meaning courted burnout. So we took a beat and decided to look inward. We took creative leaps we'd been wanting to take but always found reasons not to. Started -designing typefaces with friends and launched the In-House Type Foundry. We dove into research, business and brand strategy projects and took our first full tactical placement (more on that... another day). Little by little, we came out of caterpillar soup mode. And realized our brand didn't represent who we'd become anymore. 

So we changed it. We're excited to unveil our new identity and show a face that better reflects who we are and what we do: design from the inside out, made with curiosity and care.

Our new logo is a system of 8+ compositions that lean into the flexibility of our own, custom-made variable typeface. There's round, square, horizontal, icon-only, diamond shape, dynamic, static, motion and interactive versions that all work in tandem with a unique icon set and a generative, seemingly infinitely variable glitch pattern (move over, QR codes!). Plus... look at that T-shirt. C'mon now.
