HellCats T-Shirt / Tokyo
-
Brief:
Create a HellCats mascot illustration for the team's jersey, paying homage to Akira, a Japanese cyberpunk manga by Katsuhiro Otomo from 1982 to 1990. Specifically, draw inspiration from Kaneda's motorcycle, incorporating its color and stickers. To honor legendary warriors, the team mascot is illustrated wearing a samurai helmet.
-
The Solution:
Upon completing the illustration, tactical shirts were produced featuring Velcro sleeves for attaching the team patch and the Colombian flag. The typographic design involves disassembling the team name into two words. "Hell" is written in Kanji, while "Cats" is presented in a bold sans-serif typeface with a retro feel reminiscent of 60s and 70s automobile fonts. When juxtaposed, they create a powerful and impactful typographic ensemble.

The Result:
"Every year, we are amazed by the quality of the work."
