Walt Disney and Hue

The Interactive Design Institute wanted to extend their online reputation by becoming known as an authority on all things art and design. Their challenge? Make something visually creative that will get picked up, and get our name out there! It was an exciting venture, but a difficult one: With content being king in the age of digital marketing, everyone is looking to get their businesses content picked up somehow. So where to start?

I set out to analyze and research online content marketing specifically targeting those interested in art and design (which isn't hard work for a designer who works hard to keep up to date on the latest trends and is always looking for visual inspiration!) The question was, What are the biggest design websites featuring for their audiences?

The answer, somewhat amusingly, was: Disney. The nostalgia of so much of our youth, being mused over as emo-teenagers or modern college students. The movies were being remembered or recreated in ways that made the likes of Design Taxi and BuzzFeed go wild!

And so, Walt Disney & Hue was born. Combining the fun of creating abstract digital art work, with the challenge of our memories linking their visual color palettes to the classics we'd watch again and again (My personal favorite was Peter Pan, though not featured here).

It would indeed be picked up by some of the biggest- Creative Bloq actually turned it into a quiz! And got 1.5K+ Facebook likes, later getting picked up by Design Taxi.

I really love what I do.
