Memoria
For this school assignment we had to create an experience website to showcase the animations we made in the previous weeks about covid. The site also had to showcase different kinds of media like audio, photos, poetry and essays and you should be able to filter the different stories.
I started out with a few different ideas that were all based around the "universal experience" that covid was - the story that we all share. I happened to stumble upon an old saved pin on Pinterest which was a picture of a brain, which led me to the idea of having all the different stories be different parts of the brain.

I was also inspired by a website I found that used a lot of little dots and also had different kinds of media that you could play. The site was https://pendereckisgarden.pl/en/the-studio.
My idea was that you could filter the different stories through different themes and that it symbolized memories and how everything is connected and that as people we are connected to each other through our shared memories and experiences.
I went through a few different versions before ending on the final design. I wanted to keep the design very simple and elegant and have a lot of focus on my illustration of the brain. If you look at my moodboard above it's obvious that my design also changed a bit from the initial idea to the final product.
We also had to animate some parts of our experience website. I wanted to create a calm mood with slow fades and glow effects to highlight some aspects of the site. I also used music to create a mood that fit the different themes.

There are some transitions between the different pages that I would put some more care into if I'd had the time, such as the transition between choosing a theme and going into the page where you can experience the different stories. I'd also wanted the mouse to be a circle that glowed whenever you hovered over something.
