This project is designed for my MA Postgraduate Show at London College of Communication, ual.
It’s a busy world. We work or study, till late at night. Day after day, our sleeping time is being eaten up. Our biological clocks are being trembled by the irregular sleeping patterns, we are not able to fall asleep when we wish to.
This brand intends to explore the connections between dreams and subconsciousness, in the hope that this will revolutionize people’s perceptions of sleep and assist them in their battles with insomnia.
I believe that many of us like sleeping with smartphones, but researchers have found out that artificial light emitted by smartphones, tablets and other gadgets can stop a person from having a sound sleep by affecting the release of
melatonin. Thus I thought that adults should also have bedtime books like children.
Starting from this idea I published a series of books with exceptional examples and imagery. I selected words, numbers, colors, and shapes as the main contents of these three books. Fibonacci sequence was the theme of the first book. The content of the second book is Percy Bysshe Shelley’s “To a Skylark”. The most commonly used 125 words of English are chosen based on the analysis of the Oxford English Dictionary, as one goes on reading, less commonly used words recede gradually. The images in the third book are taken from my visual experiments explained in Unit 2 which are various scanned sources of light.
