Concept: Third place
It describes a place outside your home or work where you can relax and hangout. In its design, vibe, clientele, and intellectual environment, a third place is a welcoming space that cultivates essential social experiences in the company of like-minded people. According to Oldenburg, the key characteristics of a third place are accessibility, a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere, familiar faces, interaction, good value and refreshments and it should be a neutral location. It never feels like a chore to spend time there; people are there because they want and choose to be, and it feels comfortable. Most people are loyal to their place and return regularly to unwind and socialize.
Project Description:
It’s an office building for a product design company called “Designex” that makes most of their products from recycled plastics and natural materials, also most of the materials used in its design are sustainable and natural. It’s a sustainable building, designed in biophilic design to enhance the productivity and well-being of the employees in the company and their clients when they visit the company to buy their products.
