The undergrowth offered protection in her early stages of life. It sheltered her through stormy weather and provided sustenance. Once in a while, sunlight would slip through, finding its way in between the leaves to gently caress her with its alluring warmth. In time she grew and formed new wings that spread beautifully. It was time for her to leave the cold shade of the undergrowth behind and at long last fully bathe under the radiant sun.
