McDonalds Redesign

Redesigning the McDonald’s Happy Meal pushed my design abilities.

Going into this project, I was not satisfied with the graphics I was producing. I wanted to create a project that was created entirely on illustrator, instead of going back and forth between Procreate and Illustrator. I wanted to further my skills on Adobe Illustrator and force myself out of my comfort zone.
I wanted to use minimal amounts of colors but maximize their interaction through a Swiss/International style. Swiss style is characterized by asymmetry, grid structure, and direct marketing.
The outcome I produced successfully portrays Swiss design characteristics while using the crisp colors of cyan, magenta, and yellow.
Crayon container (bottom left) for the consumer to blend their own CMY colors located on the side of the Happy Meal Container.
COMPONENTS
(Left to right) 6 piece chicken McNugget container, drink cup, and french fry container.
French fry container. Emphasized red to continue the McDonalds color theme.
(Project Requirement) Link and QR code to the McDonalds app. QR code was tested after printing successfully.
I would have liked the Golden Arches/handle of the box to come out better. I would have fixed the cardstock cut-out measurements so that the box closed completely. By doing this I also could have photographed the sides of the box better. The colors blend and reflect onto the white surface when the tabs are closed.
I would have also liked the QR code to be in CYM color.
