This portrait was inspired by the holiday of Dia de los Muertos, and the legend of La Llorona. After watching and researching her legend, I was inspired to start drawing her portrait of what i think she was to look like. I understood she was to be scary, but I wanted to go for a more tender look, but admittedly got lost when illustrating her eye sockets. As this does display my skill with contrast of light in the dark- I wonder if I should continue this piece?
