This installation was developed for a school assignment. It's sole purpose is to let children play with different 'sound blocks' and with this; learn rhythm in a playfull manner.
Each block contains a different snippet of sound (compare it with different snippets that are used in dj-ing software). But the installation is not programmed in a way that every sound block automaticaly fits rhythmically. So that's where the learning for rhythm begins in a very playfull and fun way.
The kids can place the different blocks anywhere on the table. But since the table 'reads' the blocks at a specific fixed point; a dance track can be created. There is a broad range of blocks available, so there is plenty room for variety.

Eventually the installation was presented at Cinekid '12. Cinekid is a festival solely aimed at new media and the quality of learning from the vast landscape of media for children aged 4-14 years.
