SCARF India was founded in 1984 by a group of mental health professionals and philanthropists headed by Padma Bhushan Dr. M Sarada Menon. The Board of Management composed of persons from different walks of life, oversee and guide the administration. SCARF has been a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center since 1996.
Schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder that affects less than one percent of the U.S. population. When schizophrenia is active, symptoms can include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, trouble with thinking and lack of motivation.
