Brickflats #1

Street Art

I don't know about you, but I think the worldwide housing situtation is a joke.

Sick of the blatant abuse — I decided to join the enemy, the greedy real estate developers. Damaged walls seemed like a niche no-one has claimed. So I am using holes in walls as building space for my own little flats.

These little brickflats with their inhabitants are handcrafted stories that play on the global housing market.

tldr.: Miniature flats replace missing bricks in walls around the world.

Cozy Studio —

London Living in a nutshell.
For all non-Londoners: If you think about living by yourself in London; this is about the relative size you can expect your appartment to be.

Showerhead —

An environmentally friendly brickflat tenant is recycling some drainage water for his personal hygienic needs.

Birdcage —

In their big city flat - this pet has more space than its owner, relatively speaking.

Squeezed In —

The Global Pandemic lockdown brought (mild forms of) claustrophobia to all of us.
We all felt boxed into our flats for a while. This guy chronicles that.

Mr. Sunshine —

This is brickflat#1, the oldest and first brickflat ever!
Mr. Sunshine, is a permanent sunbather in Butterfield Green Park (Stoke Newington, London).

After one whole summer of sunbathing its colour started to fade.
This little guy taught me to use different materials, future brickflats are better protected against the sun.
