Konstantinos Tsakanikas produces aged tsipouro in Klimatia, Epirus, distilling local grapes. I was asked to design a label for the bottle as well as to assist him in forming the brand identity of his endeavor, “veltiston” (meaning top-end in archaising Greek).
For the pattern I made use of glyphs from the typeface I chose for the logo (Lascaris, modified).
The abstract pattern is inspired by traditional elements of Epirus such as folk drawings and gold workmanship. I guess it also has a smaaaal resemblance to grapevines.
Unfortunately, this project didn't proceed. The label would be printed by offset with black and a metallic Pantone.
