Dale Earnhardt Memorabilia Poster
Having grown up with NASCAR racing being an integral part of my family’s favorite pastimes, I felt it appropriate to cover an inspirational message originating from one of the more well-known drivers of the last few decades (that being Dale Earnhardt Sr.). In constructing the look-and-feel of the poster itself, I would end up sourcing a font style and color scheme which bore a likeness to that of NASCAR’s (in the hopes of replicating the appearance of boxes containing NASCAR memorabilia).
It is also worth noting that the images of the Chevy Lumina and Dale Earnhardt himself had originally started as high resolution raster images, with which I had cropped out the surrounding landscape and applied oil paint effects in order to create the illusion of a cel-shaded composition. Furthermore, I had used Illustrator to create the surrounding ring shape and the checkered flags, which was only rivaled by the artificial burnout cloud which I had hand-crafted using Procreate.
