Envy is the Thief of Joy
I overheard this on the J train and had to draw something with it. Someone said this to their friend who was comparing themselves to a colleague. It’s something we’ve all been guilty of especially in the creative industry, where you’re surrounded by nonstop talent. Envy and insecurity strike. We all know the people who can’t just be happy for someone when they accomplish something. It’s ironic because reaching out with a kind word will 100% do you more good than not. You might even feel good about yourself after.
However, I think a healthy dose of envy keeps the fire alive. Just control the burn.
