Sheffield Festival of Science
Sheffield Festival of Science and Engineering is a joint festival led by The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University in partnership with a number of city organisations. Celebrating all things science, engineering, mathematics and technology across South Yorkshire, the festival focuses on inspiring and engaging local schools and members of the public to get involved with the sciences and higher education. A suite of promotional material was created with a refreshing new identity for 2021.
To update the festival's identity, I experimented with everyday household chemicals such as bleaching powder, table salt, disinfectant, lighter fluid and lithium (from a battery) to create a fresh new look for the festival. The conclusion produced a striking rainbow of flames to be used as the main image, supported by a colourful visual identity system to engage with all age groups.
