NOSTALGIA and FLORALS
Continuing from the palash floral, I was also fascinated with the bulbous shimul flower. Taking this flower and mixing with the stripes from the traditional clothing, I explored a contemporary-traditional look of prints.
Most of the designs were screen printed, and part of explorations was directly done on fabric, using different techniques of screen printing: mono-printing, puff printing, discharge printing, tie-dye, devore and foil printing. I realized these analogue methods of printing automatically give the feeling of handmade, and make the fabrics look rich and traditional.
