I am Professor of Environmental Science and Chair of the Department of Integrative Biology at The University of Texas at San Antonio.Dr. Bush earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Biology from The University of Texas San Antonio, and received her doctorate at The University of Texas El Paso. Her research focused on the puzzle sunflower, a rare species in west Texas. She is a plant ecologist whose past research has concentrated on factors influencing the conversion of grasslands to woodlands in the Southwestern United States. Dr. Bush has been working at UTSA since 1985 and for the past six years, she has served on the Science Advisory Committee of the Edward’s Aquifer Authority. She is also a member of the Wildlife Society of America, Ecological Society of America and Texas Academy of Sciences.
