Binary Calendar - 2021

My main theme for my calendar is binary with a minimalist aesthetic. Binary is a numerical system that computers use to store data, the computer uses the digits of 0 and 1 with a base level of 2 by which they perform calculations using zeros and ones. Binary can be used to represent both smaller digits like in Boolean logic as well as for more complex large numbers to perform complex functions. Computers use binary to simplify tasks and it is a universal piece of programming that everyone uses to break down complex tasks into simple yes or no, true or false, or 0 and 1. This kind of programming is perfect to fit the minimal, Sci-fi aesthetic.

Each month utilises this type of programming, the pattern of binary above represents the month depicted below it. The colours made it easier for the user to break up the weeks and link it back to the binary. The colours that I chose to use were only four colours of blue, green, orange and red, this was to ensure that people did not get confused by too much colour, and the repeat of colours demonstrated the beginning, middle and end of the month, thus the colours worked as a divider. Using blue it created a reset, for the continuation of the other colours to begin again. The two warm colours were used to show warmer weather and cooler colours to show the cooler weather that people are likely to experience during those months.
