Many times, faces and names don’t make sense in my mind – I simply cannot match these two together and because of that, it takes me awhile to remember people. Even so, there are times when I just cannot construct the face of a person in my mind, even if they are someone that I am very familiar with.

“recognition” is an expression of my constant struggle with my memory of faces, as well as an expression of how I rely on technology to trigger my memory of someone. With photographs readily available in our smartphones, along with social media and facial recognition technologies, matching names and faces is made a lot easier.

But then again, could technology be the one causing my brain to be less proactive when it comes to remembering and recognizing? Or am I an exceptional case of FML – Facial Memory Loss?
