Back in 2016, my team (TWCX) and I got a project from Bandung City Government to create interactive screens to show the city's planning ahead.
Bandung Planning Gallery is made to show the projection, the plan, the roadmap of what the city would become in the future to the resident, stakeholder, and tourist.
There are several screens showcasing the city's at past, present time, and in coming years on several urban aspects including geographical and social aspect that connected through technology.
This is a joint project with TujuSemesta Creative Space in handling UX, while TWCX handles UI.
The design decision is based on the environment, content, and device being used for the display. We decided to go with darker scheme as the ambient of the room is dimmed, and the device being used is a large screen with minimum size of 42".
Darker color scheme is being used to reduce eyestrain as there are so many content being presented on each screen.
We're aiming for the audience to absorb each content carefully without getting eye fatigue.
On some scene, we are choosing brighter scheme to represent current city's beaurocracy and procedure to be seen as a helpful and clear servant in helping their citizen.
