This definition for Phantom perfectly captures the beginning of my art journey. This piece was my first original that I finished that I felt was the beginning of my own unique style and voice. I tapped into something. That blockage or wall that seemed to be up when it came to painting started crumbling but I still had work to do. For just like a phantom, I could sense what happened but it had no real substance yet. She was the beginning for me and she helped accelerate me into all the paintings that have come after her. She holds a special place in my heart. She was the journey and transformation of moving from shadows into light and clarity.
