This is a 100 cm x 64 cm wide sculpture work sculpted with air dry clay. It is an abstract representation of Lord Ganesha with two additional trunks attached to each side. The abstraction of this work is inspired by my own personal take on how I view Hinduism. As I was never forced to partake in religious rituals or have a specific set of beliefs and practices from Hinduism imposed onto me, it led me to develop my own spiritual belief system.

The process of sculpting this work ties in with how I ‘sculpted’ my own beliefs growing up. Carving away society’s expectation of how a person should act, adding on my own set of individual practices, and smoothing out conflicts within myself by having a sense of peace and purpose.
