About The Cafe
The palatte is a new creative cafe in the city centre of Penang, George Town. It is aptly named as the palatte for its conceptual fusion of palate and palette as this cafe allows people to create their kind of chaos on the empty canvas we provide, and then have it hanging on the cafe for weeks. In other words, it can be described as an exhibition cafe where the customers can enjoy their work being exhibited in the area they are dining in.

Project Requirement
The palatte requires an identity system with a contemporary and creative design personality. This includes a logo, a series of applications and a poster for promotion.
The Design
With the aims of thinking fresh and forward towards the design and to create something different and unconventional for the brand, the logo and series of illustrations are kept fairly simple with a gradient filled 3D lines to captivate the audiences and to grab their attention. The colours used in the gradient are inspired by the sky, particularly the sunrise and the sunset to show what the brand has to offer, a calming and relaxed place.
The logo has only three elements, which is the box indicating the canvas, a 3D gradient triangle to represent the idea of the creative cafe, which is a half studio and half exhibition cafe, and typography that is designed using the same 3D gradient to keep the consistency in the brand. The words are designed similar to a script font to represent the brand’s personality by creating the feeling of friendliness through the typography used.
To conclude, the same style of design and colours are used throughout all the visual brand elements to keep the consistency of the brand and creates brand awareness, leading to an increase in brand recognition.
