South America Wine and Travel Book

During the last year and a half, I have been working on this project, which has just been published and that I am happy to share.

The project was as challenging as it was interesting, and I learned a lot from it. The South America Wine Guide is a comprehensive, full of color, informational wine and travel guide, written by Amanda Barnes, an English author specialised in wines, during her extensive stay in South America.

This 528-page guide includes history, profiles of wineries and winemakers, detailed maps of wine regions and travel guides, plus a curated list of the best wines from each region and more than 200 photos.

The graphic style was born from the idea of transmitting the intense and vibrant color palette with which the author identifies Latin America and its botany, linked to the plant world of wine. To achieve that I worked with a selection of the typical flowers and plants of each place, incorporating them into a space of vines, pollen and colors. This vibrant palette also resonates with the vivid colors of photos, maps, and other contents of the Guide.

The challenge in the inner pages was to make content of varied natures come together (maps, photos, lists, etc.) seeking to maintain a style with generous whites as much as I could.

The book was printed at Kingsbury Press, a top notch printing press located in London.
Printed in full color hardcover edition with gold foil and metallic edges.
