LISA BLAS / Tourner la page / 2011

As part of an eight week seminar I co-taught on photography, I worked with graduate students at the Université de Lille 3, Tourcoing, France, to organize and produce, Tourner la page, a large body of photographs I created in situ, in the art department library archives during 2010 - 2011. The class was divided into four groups who worked with 150 photographs from this series as their material. Each group conceived of a curatorial premise, chose particular images, wrote accompanying essays with French, English and Arabic translations, produced catalogs, printed the images using the campus printing facility, and designed the installations. There were four exhibitions in total and four catalogs. Selected installation shots and a sample catalog edit are included in this project album.
