Woodstock Brewery is based in, you guessed it, Woodstock in Cape Town. They started making craft beer in 2014 at a time when there was a boom in microbreweries in South Africa. They immediately stood out as a brand that strove for quality, variety and great taste. They have many of our favourite beer varietals and we were stoked to work on making their labels rock. Let us show you:
"SEX, DRUGS & ROCK 'N ROLL"
When chatting with Woodstock Brewery we asked them about the meaning behind some of their beer names. They told us that they loosely referenced a sex, drugs and rock 'n roll attitude. Looking at their Original Bottle labels, these references were not clear at all. For our designs, we looked to band logos and rock tees as inspiration, and then crafted bespoke logos for each label. We only did a few bottle labels before reworking the labels for cans. These look and feel more like badass rock tees, which is as it should be.
