CLIENT BRIEF
Joseph Schooling, a multi-time All-American and World Championships. The first ever Gold medalist for Singapore with his 100m Butterfly stroke.
EXPEDITIOUS WAVE OF REOCURRENCE
CONCEPT STATEMENT
Joseph Isaac Schooling is a Singaporean swimmer. Being the gold medalist in 100m butterfly at the 2016
Olympic games. Being Singapore’s first-ever Olympic medal in swimming. And is one of Singapore’s star.
The butterfly is a swimming stroke swum on the chest, with both arm symmetrically by the dolphin kick.
From a 2D side view it creates movement, direction and repetition.

The concept is based o the movement of butterfly stroke. The movement is the energy owed within the
overall view of the arms diving in. The direction being the energy directed towards a single stroke. And all
lastly the repetition where the energy ow within repeats the way the butterfly stroke is swum; in a sign of
an infinity symbol.

The concept is inspired by the motion and directed stroke of the butterfly stroke, where it coordinates with
Joseph’s walk path, direction between each room and area and atmosphere in his home. The ow of the
movement curving swiftly in rest of the walls, which conveys a peaceful and pleasant feeling. With the swift
curves on the walls it also directs between the rooms. The elegant ow on the ceiling, not only directs but
also emphasizes the lighting and the area itself.
