OBJECTIVE
Create the environment for an exhibition at Blank Gallery by
designing a series of panels for the space. The exhibition will
feature an artist of your choice from the roster of The Creators Project.
OVERVIEW
Multidisciplinary by nature, environmental design involves
many different fields. Some of the many disciplines may include
architecture, graphic design, interior design, landscaping, and
industrial design, all concerned with the visual aspects of
wayfinding, communicating identity and information, and shaping the idea of place.
Some common examples of work by its practitioners include
wayfinding systems, architectural graphics, signage, exhibit
design, identity graphics, dynamic environments, civic design,
pictogram design, retail and store design, mapping, and themed environments.
In order to successfully create this design series, your work
must be consistent with the identity that is being developed for
the gallery and, at the same time, creatively communicate what
the exhibition is going to be about. You are expected to research
the work of your artist in order to create an innovative visual concept for the series.
