2017 - The Roam Unit

After previously painting/drawing on decks, this was the first year I tried something different and built a changing puzzle. The Roam Unit (Minotaur anagram) consisted of a maze that worked in four different states, depending on how the centre wheel was aligned. Using visual clues in the surrounding illustration, the journey from top to bottom meant passing through three chambers using three combinations. 

Once completed, I also produced a booklet, breaking down how the solution worked.

I had a lot of fun figuring out how to make it work, and building the mechanisms.

But I had a slight stumble when I noticed at the end that I had accidentally drawn one of the maze sections upside down, meaning I had to sand the entire skateboard clean and start again...
