RS6 // paint and material development practice
Another small project, this time focussed on building paint materials (glossy, metallic, and matte), as well as increasing the realism in components like headlights and carbon fibre trim.

Not only that, but it gave me a chance to get in and around a car that I love for its aggressive styling whilst retaining practicality.

After all, what use is a supercar if you can’t fit half your house in it?
Starting with simple studio shots to build the bulk of materials and lighting
Moving on to a simple environment, playing with dark concrete and an illuminated wall panel to add some more environment-based lighting to the scene.
From here, I decided to play with making a wide car just a little wider.  I used 3dsmax to build a body kit for the car, including some new accent lighting along the headlights to pull the aggressive lines in the front of the car through to the fenders. This was more of a quick addition than a production ready kit, so it’s a bit rough in some spots.
